   CHS CROSS COUNTRY

This is the first year Clinton will have an offical cross country team for both boys and girls.

Cross country running is a sport in which runners run outside with courses are over natural terrain. The course,  typically  (2.5 for girls &  up to –7.5 mi for boys) long, may include surfaces of  grass and earth, pass through woodlands and open country, and include  hills and flat ground. It is both an individual and a team sport, as  runners are judged on an individual basis and a points scoring method  for teams.  Cross country meets takes place during the fall and early  winter, and can include weather conditions of rain, sleet, snow or hail, and a wide range of temperatures.
